The Week In Review: April 7th - April 13th

Is it really Monday - AGAIN!?

Seems another week has come and gone but not without some fun at the PK lair. In case you missed any of it, here's a chance to catch up.

• We highlighted in our Webcomic Spotlight The Abominable Charles Christopher.

• We learned that people at NBC's Deal or No Deal, have their fingers on the pulse of one Marvel fan's dream.

• Jonostarsmore talked comics and LGBT with Prism Comics founding president and creator of the erotic gay thriller Mark of Aeacus, Charles "Zan" Christensen. They had so much too talk about - there was a second part.

• We hit the road in Denver, Colorado and visited Mile High Comics.

• Goblin gave some insight into Fantastic Four (vol. 2) in The DVD Shop.

What will this week hold? That's anyone's guess.

Week In Review: March 31-April 6

Happy Monday!

Another week has come and gone here at PK lair and as we look forward to an awesome week ahead, I'd like to take this time to point out some of the cool stuff you may have missed.

• We wrote an editorial in reaction to the Pride High comment storm.
• Marvel continued to give away free comics all week long. Seriously, their coffers must be stuffed.
• Orson Scott Card won an award, causing controversy within the LGBT community.
• Marvel's Secret Invasion invaded PK, with reviews, free comics, and price assessments.
• Our weekly reviews deemed the latest issues of Buffy and Young Avengers Presents to be awesome, and condemned Amazing Spider-Man in the process.
• A new Batman animated series, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, was announced...for a 2009 debut.
• Tori Amos and comic books combine like blood roses and jean-wearing mermaids (it's like peanut butter and jelly, trust me).
• Moondragon became our LGBT Character of the Week!

Week In Review: March 24-March 30

We owe you folks a weekly review so here it is!

• Real life superheroes and villains fought the never-ending fight in our world.
• Our second official contest came to a close (the entries are being judged today).
• The Dark Night's viral marketing campaign hit up Seattle.
• Pride High became our LGBT Comic of the Week (well two weeks, since we're selecting a new LGBT CotW on Monday)
• We dished that the Spoiler will be returning...but who's underneath the mask!?
• Octupus Pie brought the lulz as our Webcomic Spotlight.
• Ralph and Sue (re: dead) are set to return to the DC 'Verse. Also set to return? Why Earth -2 of course!
• Marvel showed us some videos to get us excited for Secret Invasion and their upcoming super cute, super morbid DVD: Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow.
• Spoilers aplenty in our coverage of Buffy news.
• Mycup o' Joe Q, round 2: In which he talks about Spider-Man and One More Day.
• Our reviews were a bit late, but we made it in!
• The Pied Piper became our LGBT Character of the Week.
• Finally, Superman may be unable to win this fight.

Week In Review: Late Due To Printing Error Edition

Sorry for the delay in this week's wrap up, but a Russian cosmonaut from the future prevented me from doing so. True story.

Anyway let's take a look at last week's movers and shakers!

Highlights include:

• The return of The Higher Bookshelf as kid_ampersand highlighted Comic Book Comics!.
• Our pick for LGBT Comic of the Week, So Super Duper! Brian's comic was also recently featured in the popular video review program, The Stack.
• Real printing errors caused Comic Foundry magazine to be delayed...twice...the first issue will be on sale on April 2!
• The surreal Achewood was chosen as this week's Webcomic Spotlight.
• Our local comic book store spotlight went to none other than my very own LCS, Lee's Comics in Mountain View, California. Read the comments for a strange reunion...
• Iron Man (or at least Tony Stark) was confirmed to be appearing in The Incredible Hulk, sparking rumors of an Avengers movie.
• Our second contest went up and running! Win exclusive Serenity figures! Hurry, the contest ends today!
• The Rocketeer was our featured DVD in Goblin's DVD Shop.
• Scott Pilgrim and Arrested Development combined...sorta not really...
• Our usual Thursday Review Sessions hit the stands with issue #3! Hurry and grab your copy before it sells out!
• Sadly, there will probably not be a Fantastic Four 3 and there is no Zod.
• Alan Moore was featured on BBC in a documentary.
• And finally...Ultimate Jarvis became our LGBT Character of the Week!
