Ah, Wednesdays. New Comic Book Day. That little day in the middle of the week that helps us get through the rest of it. Wednesdays also have new toys, and everyone loves toys. Except some, but I'm not talking to those people right now. They don't like toys.
It's a big week this week, but then it is solicitation time and San Diego is near, so that helps. On to what's new this week!
For those of you who are fans of mini-mates, I feel sorry for your bank accounts. This week we have the Battlestar Galactica: Razorboxed set, featuring Gina Inviere, Bill "Husker" Adama in classic pilot attire, Kendra Shaw, an old-fashioned Cylon Pilot and a Cylon Warrior. Then there's the assortment which includes: Cylon Pilot, Cylon Warrior, Cylon Commander, Pegasus Six, Gold Cylon Warrior, Dead Pegasus Six and Freefall Cylon; all sold separately at $4.99 each.
Then there is the Star Trek: Mirror Mirror Mini-Mates boxed set, which includes: Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Uhura, Sulu and Marlena Moreau.
From DC we have the Red Son boxed set for those of you who didn't pick up the Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. The incentive this time around is the exclusive Bizarro. I didn't need him anyway for my Russian JLA... I guess that would be JLR.
DC also has their solicitations up for their upcoming figures, this round includes repaints some of the figures based on Ed McGuinness' works, featuring Batman, Superman, Flash, and Wonder Woman. Personally I actually like the repaints better than the original versions; which is rare.
DC has also solicited for a 1:6 scale figure of Sandman.

This week we have Halo 3 figures (though it's possible they came out last week and my store didn't get them). This batch is quite large for a new wave, which includes both the series 2 for the campaign and the series 2 for the multiplayer. Since there's such a big list, and McFarlane Toy's page is actually set up by series, I'll just leave the links rather than actually typing it out. Yes, I'm lazy, what of it?
I am disappointed my store didn't get the pink version (see picture); but I am tempted to get at least Master Chief this time around. They can be pretty expensive for such small figures. Stupid oil prices...
Ah, Wednesdays Thursdays. New Comic Book Day. That little day in the almost end of the week that taunts us with the weekend. Wednesdays Thursdays also have new toys, and everyone loves toys. Except some, but I'm not talking to those people right now. They don't like toys.
This week we have a new Batman Black and White statue, this one is from the new Gotham Knights DVD.
They're not figures, or statues, or dolls; but they're comic related so it's going here. Suck it up! It's the new Fantastic Four starter set It comes with a new rule book, and a pretty decent summary of how to play on the back.
That's it for this week. If I missed any or there are some in the future you want me to talk about, send me an email.

I thought last week was slow for toys. This week is even slower.
More after the jump. Thought not a lot...it's kind of depressing.
Coming straight from the (Dark) Horse's mouth, it appears that the Buffy tarot cards that were anxiously awaited for by Whedonphiles will not be seeing the light of day. As our very own OracleChele reported to you back in April from the NYCC, the cards would have featured the traditional tarot figures done up as Buffy characters. Sadly, they have been canceled.

Please Note: Due to circumstances beyond our control, Dark Horse will not be producing the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Tarot Deck. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but no existing orders will be filled. We appreciate your support of this program, and again apologize to those who placed advance orders and to fans alike.
It's an unfortunate loss as they were both a novel product for the market as well as being one of the few to actually make sense given the source material.

I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed that this wave didn't include any female characters; I know the next wave has two, which isn't too shabby, but still!
Go behind the jump for some announced SDCC exclusives.
I'm not sure if this is incredibly awesome, or just plain scary. Japanator has some photo previews of figures based on Akira Toriyama and Eiichiro Oda's bastard love child collaboration manga Cross Epoch. The Goku/Luffy combinations seem to work pretty well, but combining Luffy with....Bulma? *shudder*
Since there are certain readers out there who are convinced I'm a Skrull (you know who you are!), I suppose it is my alien duty to report you that the new Diamond Select figure for this year's Sand Diego ComiCon is none other than a Skrullified Elektra. She comes complete with her Skrull minion (in the kickass jumpsuit onesie of the original Fantastic Four stories).
The set will go for $20 a pop at SDCC and will be available within hours for double or triple that on eBay.
You can touch Jayne as much as you want, and he won't do anything about it!
Oh, and there's also River and Captain Malcolm if they're more your thing.

We just received a press release for Marvel Heroes Comic Book Creator 2, a software program that lets you use officially licensed art and characters to tell your own Marvel comic book.
Just imagine the possibilities! I sure would go crazy wacky with that thing! I'll make Spider-Man make a deal with a devil! I'll make everyone in the Marvel Universe scared of little green men! I'll even go a little wild and change the Hulk to RED Hulk!
Hot Topic is known for two things: raging emotions and awesome video game and comic book gear. Ever since geek and emo merged, we’ve been able to scope out hitherto uber rare products from the comfort of our local shopping malls. Yeah you have to deal with the overzealous, costumed clerks, but it’s totally worth it when you find treasures such as this: The Marvel Zombies Minimates!
Now frequent forum visitors know that I think Marvel has milked that zombie cash cow to powdered dust, and yes this is a result of said milking but gosh darn it look at ‘em! See Zombie Colonel America’s cute little brains exposed!? Kawaii!
Hit the jump for more box art and a strange suggested age range for these toys…erm…action figures.
