Il Palazzo's Weekly Heroes Rant!

Welcome to Il Palazzo's Weekly Heroes Rant! Each week, I hope to inspire you to get off your couch (after watching Heroes), and jump into your computer chair (so you can read about Heroes). Beware though, I'll be recapping each episode as it airs, so spoilers will abound. Look forward to my often-wrong theories, erratic comments, and comparisons to the comics the show steals material from is inspired by. Hit the jump for my rant on this week's episode!
Save Matt Parkman, save the White House? Doesn't quite have the same ring, does it?
The thing I love about the "Previously on Heroes" part is that it shows (more or less) exactly who's gonna be in this episode. So you'll know exactly how crappy or good it will be.
Speaking of which, does anyone else find it better when an entire episode does NOT focus on one certain character? The recent Noah flashback spectacular made me appreciate the ensemble cast that much more.
How did Puppet Master get such an awesome Sprint phone? Check Sprint.com! Lulz.
Oh god! Danko remote detonated an eclipse! Wait, that's just the opening credits.
Hahaha. "Red wire! ....WAIT! Don't touch it!" What hi jinx this episode has!
Oh boy! More Sylar time! Just what everyone cares about!
HOLY CRAP. Sylar's dad is....also Lex Luther's?
Heh. Figures the guy would have cancer. Now lets feel sorry for him even though he's a murderer! Yay!
I wonder when Danko figured out Nathan's secret. Think there will be an entire episode devoted to that flashback?
NATHAN is rebel? WHOA. I admit, I did NOT see that coming. At least he's finally a little less dbag now. A shame that it wasn't Micah though.
...Claire's applying for a job at the comic shop? Wow. You've come a long way, cheerleader.
And of COURSE she gets it. Girl working in a comic shop attracts lonely male nerds? Cliche, but it's (sadly) 100% true.
Now, killing people is one thing...but bunnies? Oh Sylar, you're TERRIBLE.
Did Claire just admit to Noah that she was hiding people when they were chatting on the phone about "the right path?"
So Doyle's less insane now? HAHAHA Doubtful.
Did anyone else find the camera angles of Angela eating VERY effing weird?
For a second there, I thought Sylar's dad was gonna go around stealing powers now too. Dodged that bullet. ...or arrow in this case.
So...did that order from the president get void after Nathan's "big reveal" or is Danko still out?
Now Hiro and Ando get stuck with wacky baby-carrying misadventures. Oh boy.
And Nathan's on the run too. Interesting.
Haha, they're calling the next episode "Classic." I guess they heard all the bitching about how it needs to be as good as season one. I'll be the judge of that, Heroes!
On that note...that WAS Matt's ex-wife in the ad, right?

Yeah, definitely wasn't paying attention when they said Nathan was rebel. I wish it were Micah too (in fact, that's who i've been thinking of EVERY time one of those "save this person, claire!" texts is sent). I guess I can live with Nathan, but that means less (or no, at this point) Micah. And did you notice how much Angela seemed to be enjoying those oysters too? With the camera angles added it was just creepy...
I didn't catch where they revealed the whole Rebel thing. Guess I'm hitting the interweb tomorrow to rewatch the episode.
I really was hoping for more of a fight scene between Sylar and daddy. I mean, his dad has been around for that many decades and only can fling an arrow and do a creepy whistle that puts you to sleep? Come on .. Sylar could turn things to liquid, freeze things, throw people around, and look creepy in shadows within a couple short months of "coming out" and all his dad can pull out of his bag of tricks is 2 half-assed abilities?
I'm fairly sure that Nathan isn't Rebel. The way I saw it, Rebel sent Nathan a message that they were after Claire, at which point he flew to save her.
That was definitely Janice (Matt's Ex) which means that Hiro is babysitting Lil' Matt. I suspect the baby is already manifested, as freaked out as the other babysitter was. Jack Jack V2?
Angela feeling the socks was an AWESOME throwback to S1, and I love how awesome her battle of words with Danko was. Was it just me, or was she implying that Danko isn't as normal as he appears to be.
On that line, wonder if Rachel Mills (the female FBI agent following Claire) is going to slip up and let others know about her ability. (If you've not read the comics/participated in the ARG, she's a teleporter)
I'm actually glad that they didn't show Danko spending an entire episode trying to figure out about Nathan's powers. He had a hunch, and instead of pussyfooting about like any other character on the show would, he went and tested his hypothesis ^^.
Doyle was awesome as always, and that smile at the end put just the right amount of doubt into Claire's head (I almost wanna take a page from his book and start calling her Barbie)
Good job, show, you've been getting better and better since you've come back. Don't let me down now. Next week is the first Bryan Fuller episode since S1, IIRC, so I'm expecting great things.
You guys are right. Nathan probably isn't Rebel. He IS working very closely with whoever it may be, though. Go back and watch the scenes with Tracy, especially the ones where Nathan talks about "hope." Maybe there's still a chance it's Micah, and he's been in Nathan's care the whole time?
I'm still holding out hope that Micah will show up...it would just make the show better.
Ugh, you guys have left out the most disturbing things from Angela eating, which were those slurping noises as she sucked on the shells. ugh
Did no one else notice that just about all the customers in the comic shop were Buy More employees?
I'm still hoping that Rebel is Micah. And according to Behind the Eclipse on www.comicbookresources.com, Micah will be returning sometime this volume.
Whether or not the source (the writers) can be trusted. I don't know but I want him back.
Overall, the episode was decent. Better than the last two anyway. And yeah, at first I was thinking that maybe Micah was 'Rebel', but after the INSANE amount of electronic manipulation in the last couple episodes it HAS to be him.
While this season has had a lot of rehashed crap and boring moments, I am starting to regain hope. For the first time this season the ending of the episode really has me looking forward to see what happens. (Aside from the crappy Hiro's Adventures in Babysitting)
Was there not a girl from the first comic series that could transmit and communicate through electronics without touching them? I don't have a copy handy, but I don't remember if she is dead or not (which is probable that she is, most characters from that run didn't live through to the end). She's the only established character other than Micah that has the power to do what has been done (other than good old fashioned hacking). The hacking part is the only reason I DON'T think its HRG. While good with a gun, they've never even implied he has any sort of computers skillset.
I think Sylar’s dad having cancer was supposed to be another in a long line of disappointments for Scyler. Why kill a guy who is already dieing a slow and painful death? When Sylar walked in and found out his dad had cancer, and would welcome a quick death his righteous revenge killing was spoiled. So he hung out with dad for an after noon to give the guy hope for a long healthy life, and then took it away, hence revenge.
I don’t think Nathan is Rebel. There are too many skills needed for him to be Rebel. It looks like Rebel has, precognizance, mad computer skills, and knowledge of the inner workings of the organization. I think Rebel is Angela, with the help of Mika, Noah, and just recently Nathan.
I don’t think Danko has a power. I think he has some other dark secret.
I think Doyle is reformed. Or at least not as evil as he once was. He didn’t kill Rachel when he had the chance I think that says a lot.
I was just disappointed that Clair didn’t get to spend a few episodes helping people while working at the comic shop. I thought that was a great idea and I was eager to see it in work. But now she is on the run. ::pout::
Here are a few bullet points:
--Claire getting the job at the comic book store=waste of time.
--Angela is a total badass and I love her to death.
--Sylar in Danko's apartment at the end...uh...so soon?
--Hannah Gitelman is the name y'all are trying to remember.
--Nathan getting knocked out of the window by Danko=totally predictable and thus not even remotely interesting.
--Matt Parkman is the baby's name? Gimme a fucking break....
--Tracy not revealing Nathan's secret...uh...didn't really matter much in the end, did it? I mean what's the whole point of this episode when all the major interesting things were just wasted at the end? Drag them out for a few episodes, goddammit!
There's my rant for the week. Honestly this show is just so boring sometimes.
