AGGROgator: Flying High And Mighty

gator-plane-1.jpg

I'm sure most of you aren't reading this on Friday or Saturday as you're probably seeing Watchmen a few times. Myself? I'll see it next week because I've become an old man at 25 and can't stand the throngs of people at the local multiplex.

So instead of joining all of you in the dark theater, I'll be taking a plan ride with the gator and laugh at all of you stuffed into your uncomfortable chairs and sticky floors. In fact, I have to go get our tickets for the flight.

I leave you in the gator's capable hands for some linkage fun and games!

BAM! ... Did you ever wonder what it's like to work on the other side of the counter every Wednesday? Wired.com took to the shops to see what's it like to live the secret life of a comic shop employee.
_____

BAM! ... Do you remember sitting in college (be it yesterday or a few decades ago) and staring out the window wishing you could be in a fun class? Or maybe one that came anywhere close to your interests? The Online College Blog has a list of the 15 Strangest Courses in the U.S. Among the entries of The Science of Harry Potter and The Strategy of Starcraft is the Science of Superheroes. So the next time you remember your Calculus class, just think of the guy sitting in class discussing how Green Lantern's power ring operates based on willpower.
_____

BAM! ... With a name like I-Mockery.com, it's hard to expect an in-depth thesis on the role of gay heroes on interstellar worlds. That's exactly why we get a list of the 10 Gayest Masters of the Universe. Might not be world-changing, but hard to argue with some of their entries.
_____

BAM! .., Okay, one more list then we're done with them for this week. You thought it was strange when Frank Black hung out with Mulder and Scully? Well, check out this list of the 8 Strangest Comic Book Team-Ups.
_____

BAM! ... If you know me at all, you'll know about me and sports. By that I mean that I know nothing at all about them and I stay as far away from them at all costs. That said, I'd play a game or two with the right people. The right super people. Jake Plummer had the right idea when crafted his perfect football team using superheroes.
_____

BAM! ... Bruce Timm has a very distinctive style and he left a mark on the visual style of Batman. And when something works for Batman, it's only natural that it gets applied to Star Wars. Thusly, I present to you Star Wars: Empire of the Bat.
_____

BAM! ... And to tie things off this week, what happens when you mix Clark Kent, Charlie Brown and graffiti? Well, this actually.

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
