Watchmen: Book vs. Film

Since the film version of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' seminal graphic novel is due out on March 6th, the professional film review community have begun seeing the film and doing their write-ups. Devin Faraci over at CHUD has his review up already as does Harry Knowles at AICN.
Most reviews are going to be mainly spoiler free (especially since it's still a little ways away), but there have been some details leaked about the ending and changes made from the source material. MTV's movie blog has a rundown of some of the changes and things left out of the film version. Some are relatively mundane, like the Comedian getting a pint in the face, and can easily still get their intended effect across in other ways. There are some other scenes and whole sub-plots that have been omitted that seem to bypass major character developments, such as axing Rorschach's sessions with Dr. Long.
I'm well aware they couldn't fit the entire novel into he film, but then that goes back to my trepidation in making the film from the very beginning. It's a deep book with a lot of information and a sizable portion of it unfilmable. And while some people can make a great movie from an unfilmable book, I'm thinking it's a small club.
Hit MTV's movie blog for more changes tot he film, but be wary of spoilers if you're waiting to see the film before reading the book.
