AGGROgator: Get Up And Fighter

Gator.jpg

The day you've all been waiting for is finally here - Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li comes out today!

Yes, I know, calm down. It'll be okay. All you have to do is get through work or class today and then you'll be able to head to the local movie theater and soak in the greatness that will surely be Lana Lang Chun-Li kicking some serious ass. Luckily, since I have no such obligations tethering me to mindless tasks, I don't have to wait to see the awesome on screen.

Come to think of it, I should probably line up at the theater now to make sure I get a ticket. I'll leave you in good hands and let our gator friend take over while I"m on line down at the theater. Chris Klein, I'm coming!
__________

BAM! ... Let's start this week off on a down note and work our way up, shall we? The Occasional Superheroine takes a look at what may be coming down the pike a little quicker than we'd like, but may be inevitable. What happens when the industry as we know it ends?
_____

BAM! ... Jumping to something a little more hopeful, how often do you wish you could be Batman? No, I don't mean living in a palatial estate with Chris O'Donnell. I'm talking about being a kickass detective, having abs of steel, gadgets galore and the best car on the block. iO9 wondered just how plausible the Dark Knight's setup is and investigates.
_____

BAM! ... The Movie Moron takes a look at the cast for May's X-Men Origins: Wolverine and explains some of the lesser known characters such as Agent Zero. Of course, I hesitate to emphasize the Movie Moron part of the website given that the picture of John Wraith is of Wraith the Phalanx-killing cosmic hero of the Annhilation franchise. John Wraith is someone quite different, but alas, we'll let that one pass.

BAM! ... You know the nation is in an obesity epidemic when even our toys are starting to feel the extra pounds.
_____

BAM! ... To celebrate Marvel's 70th anniversary, they'll be doing a bunch of books about their history and benchmarks. One of the first will be a look back at their first major success in the superhero field and what's considered to be the birth of Marvel Comics. To recreate the famous 40s cover, artist Paolo Rivera shows us how he painted the Namor and Human Torch team-up.
_____

BAM! ... Did you see the new opening to The Simpsons last week? (If not, check it out here.) There are a lot of paralells between the new and the old and a whole slew of new in-jokes. Here are some of the best as picked by Sam Greenspan.
_____

BAM! ... And finally for this week, Hulk and underpants. Need I say more?

Chris Klein as Charlie is horrible. Legend of Chun-Li cannot be worse than Dead or Alive.

I lol'd at Mr Sparkle and Tomacco being checked at the register. :D

You know… I bet if you asked nicely you could get one or two of your readers to model those hulk undies.

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
