Il Palazzo's Weekly Heroes Rant!

hiro-daphne-heroes.jpg

Welcome to Il Palazzo's Weekly Heroes Rant! Each week, I hope to inspire you to get off your couch (after watching Heroes), and jump into your computer chair (so you can read about Heroes). Beware though, I'll be recapping each episode as it airs, so spoilers will abound. Look forward to my often-wrong theories, erratic comments, and comparisons to the comics the show steals material from is inspired by. Hit the jump for my rant on this week's episode!

So, last chapter of volume three. Here we go:

How is it neither Noah nor Kaito ever realized they met their kids in the past?

OH NO! Sylar stole Mohinder's narrating power!

Wow, did Sylar just turn the episode into a Saw parody?

Is Sylar flirting with Claire now ("You've got daddy issues too? SO DO I!")? What the hell dude? Find someone your own age to love and then brutally murder for once.

Poor cute marine guy. Guess he'll never learn how to throw a shield.

Was that the black hole guy that they let out of level five with the others? Didn't he kill himself?

...since when does Knox consider himself a good guy?

Wow Sylar. You're an asshole, making Meredith go out like that. At least, that's what she'd say about you if she wasn't all censored.

DAMN. Tracy out of friggin' nowhere. Knox went out with awesome CG magic. They should kill every character off this way.

WOW. Ando can amplify powers? Not what I was expecting at all. Nice new touch.

HAHAHA....Poor Hiro. "Pikachu." Apparently, that's all the Japanese any American knows.

Noooo! They dumped all the magical Kool-Aid!

Well, now people with abilities are gonna be hunted down. Think Nathan told the president he could fly? And more importantly, do you think we'll see mass-produced robots programmed to hunt down "specials?"

My big hope is that with a new storyline (and a new-ish creative team), maybe they can finally get the characters back on track. Here's to no character flip-flops in 09'!

A couple of things:

The black guy from level 5 was Echo DeMille, the first Websiode Hero, not Worm hole dude. He had the same powers as the guy Peter was put into in the beginnning of the season (think Black Bolt).

I'm definitely going to miss Doyle. He was super creepy, and Puppetmaster powers are just awesome.

OHMYGOD!!! Was that just President Worf? Say what you want about Heroes, they have a great casting department.

I'm excited about the next volume. I've heard people complaining it is too X-Men like, but really, if you do ANYTHING with superpowered people, you're eventually going to do something X-Men has already done.

Ah, ok. I knew I recognized him from somewhere. I only saw the first webisode. They didn't show his face enough for me to catch that though. Thanks!

WORF? Holy crap!!! I just lost so much nerd cred.

And I don't mind it being X-Men like at all. I just love pointing out the references they make to people. :-p

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"

Comic of the Week

Review: Avengers: The Children's Crusade #1 I literally clapped my hands together and said OhMyGodYesssss when the friendly staff member at my regular shop held this book out to hand it to me. Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung finally - finally - return to this title with a nine issue limited series. I will spare you paragraphs of pontification and cut to the chase: it's not just good, it's the best thing Marvel has going, period. Read on for the pontification and petty quibbles!...
