Some Hype on the Dark Avengers.

IGN has a little bit on the upcoming Dark Avengers series, including the cover for the first issue. This is clearly the next big hyped thing from Marvel following the Secret Invasion crossover. IGN got Tom Brevoorts comment on it:
"Who are the Dark Avengers? That's the question that all of Marveldom is going to be asking as Secret Invasion gives way to Dark Reign. Are they clones? Doppelgangers? Future Echoes? Or something more immediate and horrifying? And once their identity is revealed, that will only propel the Marvel Universe onto a path that will carry it forward towards an inevitable, explosive climax."
So basically, he told us nothing. The whole "inevitable, explosive climax" part is so cliched now, I think they've used that for everything new. For a company that employs many writers, they seem to be missing a single thesaurus.
Even so, I can't help being curious; what Marvel geek wouldn't be just a little?

I think I'll wait for more info before I decide to invest any time into Dark Reign.
Marvel has some good ongoing titles that I enjoy that are separate from the crossovers. (Captain America, Daredevil, et.)
I have completely given up hope for Marvel's big events.
WWH's ending was a lame cop out (couldn't have the heroes even accidentaly be responsible for something horrible, could they? No, instead we go with generic monster-looking guy) and Secret Invasion is a complete injustice to the Skrulls with everyone and their grandmother beating them to a pulp.
Plus the fact that none of these big events have anything cerebral behind them. They're just big brawl fests. Which in itself isn't bad, but after 4-5 of them, I'd like a more psychological event. To use an analogy, I'd like more thriller than action movie.
Marvel "events" are hit or miss. More often then not (see World War Hulk and Secret Invasion as recent examples) they're much ado about nothing.
