Newsarama Reports LA Times Wonder Woman Talk

As a comic book fan who is still upset over the end of a Joss Whedon Wonder Woman film I am probably not the most unbiased person to be bringing you this information from the LA Times by way of Newsrama.

Then again if Fox news can get away with their coverage - so can I.

I am the first person to scream the word DIVERSITY, as many a friend can attest, and completely agree with bold choices but I really hope for a strong actor to take on the role of Wonder Woman if a film is ever made.

There is a big reason Iron Man worked - Robert Downey Jr.

So peanut gallery - your thoughts on bold choices for Wonder Woman or any other comic to film adaption. Who would you love to see bend the traditional comics casting and who should be kept far away from any future comic to film adaptions?

Greek society was pluralistic, yes? I think you can cast a black Wonder Woman and keep the Greek mythology back story.

I like Beyonce well enough.

@Eshto: My only problem with Beyonce is that while I liked her in Dreamgirls, I don't know if she can pull off "Amazon Princess." This is supposed to be a chick big enough and fit enough to stand up to Superman and stare him in the eyes.

Several years ago, I'd have said "Lucy Lawless," but now? Don't have a damn clue.

Black Wonder Woman? AWESOME. Beyonce as Wonder Woman? NO WAY. Are we all so quick to forget her horrid turn as Foxy Brown in Goldmember? I heard she wasn't bad in Dreamgirls, but can she carry a whole film? Only if its a musical, IMO.

Beyonce was alright in Dreamgirls but she hardly carried the movie. A black WW would be so awesome but I don't think the movie execs would ever go for that.

I really have no clue who to cast. Maybe that actress from the Terminator TV series, Lena Headey.

You know, I think she could do it. It would definately be an interesting turn for the franchise, which, honestly, I don't think is strong enough to carry a movie in its current condition. (Disclaimer: I love Wonder Woman, but I don't think her solo series have ever been fantastic. She seems to function much better in the Justice League or other groups)

If Beyonce is Wonder Woman I swear I'll off myself.

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
