Manhunter #35
Genius once again. Anyone who calls themselves a comic book fan should have no excuses as to why they are not reading this book. A perfect balance of action, mystery, character development, and the proper use of the DCU. RogueFan hit the nail on the head this week with the editorial. This is a...

Authority #3
Midnighter faces down Eidolon this issue, and true to his crazy, unkillable self, he leaves the carrier alone, because Midnighter asked. Weird. Meanwhile the other survivors come across some live tech. This issue doesn't really reveal too much, in terms of plot. There is, however, another touching moment between Midnighter and Apollo, which for me, personally, is more than enough reason to...

DCU Decisions #2
I love the concept of this book. A superhero endorses a political candidate and the **** hits the fan. At first the argument over the very fact that it happens dominates, until a multitude of other heroes start to speak out about their favored candidate. Will it all balance out?
Oh, and don't miss the knock-down, drag-out fight between Hal and Ollie. Any time Hal takes the ring OFF because he's angry? Then you know it's on.

Venom: Dark Origins #3
The reexamination of Venom's origin continues as this issue sees Eddie Brock finally join with the alien symbiote. This is probably the best representation of this story to date, including the original. We see a real transition from Brock, to the symbiote to Venom as a combination of the two. There is a very real difference in the look of Brock in the symbiote and that of venom at the end of the book. He goes from simply a dark Spider-Man to a character all his own in the final pages, really elevating Medina's artwork in the process. Zeb Wells, well, we knew he was a kick ass writer anyway.

House of M: Civil War #2
We get one step closer to the begining of House of M #1 as Xavier joins magneto's group and they liberate the United States's mutants kept in internment camps. The biggest progression comes when the Brotherhood and Family Magnus reach Genosha and it's a safe bet that won't be very good for the humans there. I'm still surprised thse house of M books contnue to be published (the series supposedly sells very well in trades), but as long as they have stories with a point set in the house of M world (as opposed to the recent House of M: Avengers book) and some more Magneto-centric stories, I'm sold.

Terror Titans #1
Ravager seemingly joins the Terror Titans, a group run by the Clock King; who has connections to the Dark Side club. This book takes one of the most overused plot lines, super-being grudge matches, and makes it even more insanely boring than ever before. The only thing that gives it somewhat of a redeeming value is Ravager's ongoing story, but honestly, it's not much.
Skip it.
Vixen #1
Vixen's story gets filled in a bit more when she goes back home to confront someone from her past. The story is pretty good (and kind of makes you forget the really horrible story going on in JLA right now...), but I'm not sure I'd recommend it for a buy as single issues. I think it's a better buy as a trade, so for now I'd say just...
Skip it.
Cable #7
Cable's first six issues (and the annual) have been some of the most interesting X-Men stories in awhile. This issue, however, seems to lose some of that momentum as Bishop goes back to the past, where they pretend we might get answers on his crazy desire to kill the new mutant baby, but doesn't really happen. Cable and the baby's story takes a jump by two years or so and thus loses the aforementioned momentum. I hate to say it, but this issue isn't worth it.

Rogue Fan's Reviews
Nightwing #149
After a couple of interesting issues, this one just felt like a filler. Nightwing spends most of the issue possibly fighting bad guys or possibly fighting thin air, who could really tell? The ending was predictable and sets up the big knockdown drag-out fight of next month's anniversary issue. Nice art, and while the story was decent, it wasn't as good as the issues leading up to it.

Supergirl #34
No book in recent comic history has struggled and had so many relaunches as Supergirl has since the new Kara Zor-El was given her own book a few years ago. After only 33 issues, most fans of Supergirl had given up on the book after having to endure one "New turning point for Supergirl as she faces her past" scenario too many. However, it looks like the title has been saved. Enter new writer Sterling Gates, a relatively unknown writer but someone who's been a longtime fan of Supergirl in all her many incarnations. This issue was solid, interesting, and sets up a decent take on Supergirl that should keep fans happy for a long time. And even better, Supergirl is starting to act responsibly, which I think is something that many fans have been looking for. With dazzling art by Jamal Igle, the Supergirl title looks like it's in good hands.
