Lady Bullseye Under The Microscope

DD111FINALcopy.JPG

Lady Bullseye, a new villain in Daredevil, has been hyped since she was first mentioned back at WizardWorld Philadelphia in June. A=Supposedly a major new villain for ol' Hornhead, she was said to be a serious new threat emerging from Daredevil's number one adversary - Bullseye himself.

Given she was created by Ed Brubaker, there were high hopes for the character and her debut storyline. Marvel placed house ads in their books to hype her up and everyone waited for her debut.

Only problem is now that she's here, not everyone is exactly thrilled with her origin. The gang over at Girls Read Comics has a few issues with just how Lady Bullseye came about in the pages of Daredevil #111.

In fact, they've even created a one act play to present their point. I'm hoping the play will open off Broadway soon. I'll invest and be a backer ... so long as I get some good seats.

EDIT: In my sheer overzealousness, I made the mistake of referring to the Girls Read Comics blog as being a group effort. I could not have been more wrong as the project is the work of one woman, Karen Healey. My apologies to Ms. Healey and as I continue to read her updates I will make sure to keep this in mind.

To clarify: While I too have hopes for a Broadway production of my shocking and original work, I must point out that Girls Read Comics does not have a gang. It has a me. There are very occasional one-off guest writers, but I'm the only regular..

I apologize for the oversight. Nothing but my fault.

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
