Brian Andersen Has Some Serious Clout

clout_small_4.jpg

Most gay comic book readers know the name Brian Andersen by this point. An acclaimed writer and artist, his two biggest projects to date are his collaboration with Celina Hernandez on Reignbow and De-Va and his own So Super Duper.

Well it looks like Andersen has hit the big time - a Southern California gay magazine! The self-described nerd talks to Clout magazine about his younger days reading comics and being afraid to pick up Wonder Woman. He also gives the skinny on just why he writes his books like he does, like making the lead character in So Super Duper unaware of his homosexuality.

Check out a small snippet of the interview below, then head over to Clout's website for the full interview.

"Each day I go in there it's just full of people," he says. "There are so many gay comic bookers out there and anything that comes out that's gay related, the gay comic book audience jumps on it because they want to see themselves in their favorite medium."

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
