Farscape Breaching The Four Color Barrier

Farscape creator Rockne O'Bannon (which is a seriously kickass name, by the way) has announced that he'll be joined by fan favorite author Keith R.A. DeCandido on the forthcoming series of books based in the Farscape universe.
One of the Sci-Fi Channel's first hits, the show has been off the air for about six years but has remained in motion ever since in the form of TV movies, novels or comics. This newest launch of books looks to expand on the Peacekeeper War and remain in continuity, along with the SciFi.com webisodes.
The first limited series in this story will be released in November from BOOM! Studios.

BOOM! STUDIOS AND THE JIM HENSON COMPANY ANNOUNCE FAN FAVORITE FARSCAPE NOVELIST KEITH R.A. DECANDIDO ADDED TO THE FARSCAPE COMIC CREATIVE TEAMSeptember 4th, 2008 - Los Angeles, CA - BOOM! Studios and The Jim Henson Company announced today that Keith R.A. DeCandido will be scripting the FARSCAPE miniseries from an original story by FARSCAPE creator Rockne O'Bannon.
Using O'Bannon's unique vision and richly detailed story, DeCandido will work with BOOM! Studios and The Jim Henson Company to bring fans the best comic this or any universe has ever seen!
Keith R.A. DeCandido has authored more than 30 novels, among them, the acclaimed FARSCAPE novel HOUSE OF CARDS, released in 2001. DeCandido also wrote three short stories in that universe for the show's official magazine and role-playing game.
"Words cannot describe how thrilled I am to be returning to FARSCAPE. Writing HOUSE OF CARDS was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my career, and I was always sorry I didn't get to do more work in the universe," said DeCandido. "Re-immersing myself in the wild and wacky world of FARSCAPE has been a true joy, as the show remains just as brilliant in 2008 as it was at the turn of the century.
"Working with Rockne just makes it a thousand times better. When he and I first met, the first thing he said to me was, 'You get it!'" added DeCandido. "And working together on the comic book has shown that we're both on a frighteningly similar wavelength. It's as easy and fun a collaboration as any I've had, and I hope there'll be lots more to come."
Debuting on the SCI-FI Channel in 1998, FARSCAPE follows the adventures of astronaut John Crichton, who has a freak accident during an experimental space mission that catapults him across a thousand galaxies to an alien battlefield. Suddenly, he's trapped among alien creatures wielding deadly technology - a battle that 20th century sci-fi pop culture never prepared him for. Hunted by a merciless military race, Crichton begins his quest for home from a distant galaxy.
A groundbreaking award-winning sci-fi production, FARSCAPE has become a global favorite. Named by TV Guide as one of television's "Best Cult Shows Ever" and most recently named by EMPIRE Magazine as one of the "50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time," FARSCAPE is known for the overwhelming fan-based campaign that led to its miniseries production. The show has continued to find new audiences as it airs in syndication and is available on DVD around the world.

Very excited about this.
I've always loved Farscape. One of my favorite Sci-fo series ever.
I just hope they get a great artist to go along with the great writers.
As for the story, I'm glad they're gonna go continuity-wise after the Peacekeeper Wars. I hate that Star Trek seems to place anything they do nowadays in the past (relatively speaking of course).
*Obligatory Ben Browder is fine comment*
Cool maybe I will be branching out from just super hero comics soon.
Oh, thank GOD...
I absolutely LOVED farscape when it was on. Finally, it gets some lovin', even if the artists will more then likely end up totally mangling the stars's faces after issue 2.
