AGGROgator: Attack At The Ready!

gator-1.jpg

This is the first week post-summer here in the states and our gator friend is focusing on his AGGRO half. You'll have to excuse his rather brusque nature this week as he's dealing with kids going back to school and soccer moms invading the streets again. To deal with these increased annoyances, he's stocked up on some weaponry and is ready to handle may problems that may arise.
__________

BAM! ... Let's start this week's column off with some humor. With all these characters having kids these days, it was only a matter of time before a play date was formed.
_____

BAM! ... Comics as a form of propaganda is nothing new. Be it Captain America during World War II or trying to suppress people's rights, comics have been used to sway people's minds many times over. Why not try just one more?
_____

BAM! ... Henry Pym: Hero, Psycho, Skrull. Looking for a complete history in an easy to read chunk? You're in luck!
_____

BAM! ... In one of the weirder semi-crossovers we've seen to date, the Dark Lord of the Sith take on the World's Greatest Comic Magazine. That's right. It's Darth Vader vs. the Fantastic Four ... sort of.
_____

BAM! ... Women as villains have always held a special niche in superhero books. From Malice to Catwoman to the White Queen, evil women tend to swim in sex. Why is this? Valerie D'Orazio would also like to know.
_____

BAM! ... Take a few minutes, sit back and read up on the history of the Justice League of America logo in all its many (many!) iterations. Courtesy of legendary letterer Todd Klein.
_____

BAM! ... And to wrap up this week, let's take a quick look at the upcoming sequel to the limited series Marvels. A hard act to follow, this new volume will take photographer Phil Sheldon to the 70s and 80s of the Marvel universe. Will it be as groundbreaking as the original? You be the judge.

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"

Comic of the Week

Review: Avengers: The Children's Crusade #1 I literally clapped my hands together and said OhMyGodYesssss when the friendly staff member at my regular shop held this book out to hand it to me. Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung finally - finally - return to this title with a nine issue limited series. I will spare you paragraphs of pontification and cut to the chase: it's not just good, it's the best thing Marvel has going, period. Read on for the pontification and petty quibbles!...
