Your Two Cents: The Best And Why

swimteam.gif

Olympic fever has hit - athletes from around the world fight to be the best of the best.

Comic book fans know that being the best sales wise matters but so does fandom. How many times have books with average or below average sales managed to survive or come back from projected publishing death?

So I ask PK comic fans.

What book, that doesn't crack the top ten, is the best comic out there and why?

What is your favorite comic book underdog?

Thunderbolts. It has been amazing ever since Ellis reimagined it, and it looks to get even better after Secret Invasion. Ellis's dark humor was the perfect match for a team led by Norman Osborn.

Captain Britain and MI: 13. Even with the sales boost that SI is giving to a lot of the other tie-ins, I think this may remain an underdog.

It also had probably the strongest debut issue Marvel has offered in a long, long time.

Comic of the Week

Review: Avengers: The Children's Crusade #1 I literally clapped my hands together and said OhMyGodYesssss when the friendly staff member at my regular shop held this book out to hand it to me. Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung finally - finally - return to this title with a nine issue limited series. I will spare you paragraphs of pontification and cut to the chase: it's not just good, it's the best thing Marvel has going, period. Read on for the pontification and petty quibbles!...
