Heroes In Everyday Jobs

robin.jpg

Here's an interesting little piece, it's a display of photos of Mexican Immigrants dressed as superheroes, and a commentary on heroism in modern life.

The Mexican immigrant worker in New York is a perfect example of the hero who has gone unnoticed. It is common for a Mexican worker in New York to work extraordinary hours in extreme conditions for very low wages which are saved at great cost and sacrifice and sent to families and communities in Mexico who rely on them to survive.

Among the photos are pictures are Superman delivering pizzas, a scary shot of Spiderman washing windows, Aquaman gutting fish, and more. Then of course, there's Robin. I do believe that we're seeing Robin pimping himself out in front an adult bookstore. Oh Robin... how far you've falle.... wait. Dear god... where is Donna?

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
