Updated: What Are You Reading This Weekend?

YTheLastMan.jpg

This week, I will finally finish the last 8 issues of Y: The Last Man (The majority of the series has been excellent, but the final dénouement seems a bit too convoluted and rushed...but I still have 8 issues to make my final judgment).

And that's about it! I have a pretty busy weekend planned so my comics won't get nearly as much love as they should.

What about you folks? Any interesting reads for the weekend?

Update: I just finished Y: The Last Man, and I take it back...the explanation for the disappearance of men was disappointing (as Vaughan points out himself via his own characters) but the series as a whole was spectacular. The last story arc and the last issue will haunt me for days. I don't remember ever crying for a comic book before Y: The Last Man #60. Yes. It's that good.

I'll be reading Captain britain and MI13 numbers 1 and 2. There's a lot of word bubbles, and its my birfday weekend so I might be too "tired" to get through them. D:

Comic of the Week

Review: Avengers: The Children's Crusade #1 I literally clapped my hands together and said OhMyGodYesssss when the friendly staff member at my regular shop held this book out to hand it to me. Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung finally - finally - return to this title with a nine issue limited series. I will spare you paragraphs of pontification and cut to the chase: it's not just good, it's the best thing Marvel has going, period. Read on for the pontification and petty quibbles!...
