Runaways Restart Has A Cover

runawyv01cov_l.gif

As Whedon's tenure on Runaways draws to a close art has appeared online for the forthcoming issue #1 written by Terry Moore. As drawn by Humberto Ramos, who is best known for his work on The Spectacular Spider-Man, the team of teenage rebels certainly has an all new look.

Thoughts?

Runaways. Gotta catch em' all.

Im not a huge fan of the art or anything but I am excited that this will be coming out... someday... hopefully...

Eh, not keen on the art. But personally it's the story that sells it to me more than the art, so I'll see how that is before final judgment.

A glance at Terry Moore's online blog and one learns that he recent read Whedon's final issue and it changed the path of one of his stories. Talk about a nightmare when writers have to write without knowing for sure where the plot before yours is really going.

Didn't seem to phase Whedon too much.

Before he started his run, the Runaways had... run into (wow I need a thesaurus) Iron Man.

Did you see any mention of that in Dead End Kids?

I'm not too interested in Runaways any more. I think Joss Whedon forgot where he was going with the plot and Runaways #30 became a mess. Kinda like exactly what happen with the disasterous Giant Size Astonishing X-Men.

I feel that only Brian K Vaughn had the right ideas of the themes and dialog for the "Runaways" series.

I'll ONLY pick up Terry Moore's version if there are credible rave reviews.

From his post I get the feeling it was an even bigger plot element then that obvious gaffe

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
