Inuyasha Calling It Quits

inuyasha20002.jpg.w300h422.jpgThat's right. After 11 years, Rumiko Takahashi's long-running series about a dog-boy protagonist is finally reaching its end. I got into the show when it first debuted, and even bought the first three volumes of the manga. Unfortunately, the constant sameness of the series quickly turned me off to the whole thing. The "wiil they/won't they" of Inuyasha and Kagome alone was enough to make me gag. But, I digress. Any Inuyasha fans that are sad to see it go? Or is it (finally) about time?

Inuyasha Finishes After 11 Years

It was time about seven years ago. Rumiko Takahashi is great, but she can't end a series to save her life. It always gets stuck in a DBZ-esque horrific power climb that can only end in horror. It makes me very sad.

53 volumes??? Good Lord, that's overkill... Now would be the right time to start "Maison Ikkoku - THE SEQUEL", maybe? I would buy that.

Rumiko Takahashi is amazing, but her longer running series get a little...strange near the end. Ranma 1/2 was her next longest running series and by the end the changing springs and so one was out of control. I think it's one of the things that makes her a popular 'shonen' artist, all the power games and whatnot.

Still, she always manages to make the ending still feel poignant after all the volumes of filler.

Now why haven't they ever fully translated Urusei Yatsura for US audiences yet!?

omg it's about time. I was a fan when I was in my 20's. Then I sorta grew out of it when I found that it wasn't going anywhere very slowly.

ranma was so much better, and more deserving of the attention.

Comic of the Week

Review: Avengers: The Children's Crusade #1 I literally clapped my hands together and said OhMyGodYesssss when the friendly staff member at my regular shop held this book out to hand it to me. Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung finally - finally - return to this title with a nine issue limited series. I will spare you paragraphs of pontification and cut to the chase: it's not just good, it's the best thing Marvel has going, period. Read on for the pontification and petty quibbles!...
