Gays and Dolls

IronManMugg.jpg

Ah, Wednesdays. New Comic Book Day. That little day in the middle of the week that helps us get through the rest of it. Wednesdays also have new toys, and everyone loves toys.

Except some, but I'm not talking to those people right now. They don't like toys.

This week there really isn't too much that's new for stores, mainly just the second wave of World of Warcraft figures. Well, not mainly, that's pretty much it. They include: Draenei Paladin Vindicator Marrad, a Gnome Warrior Sprocket Gyrospring, a Human Warrior Archilon Shadowheart, Night Elf Druid Broll Bearmantle , and Troll Priest Zabra Hexx.

I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed that this wave didn't include any female characters; I know the next wave has two, which isn't too shabby, but still!

Go behind the jump for some announced SDCC exclusives.

Anywho, on to the new toys that have been announced. You're probably wondering what the hell the large headed Iron Man figure is. That is a Mugg. No, it doesn't hold coffee (I've been asked that many times. I wish I was joking.), it's just a distorted figure. It's in. Anyway, this particular one is one of many San Diego Comic Con exclusives made solely to drive up scalper's Ebay sales. There's also a Savage Land box set from Marvel Legends (that's exclusive because very few actually care), and a Fin Fang Foom build a figure set. You can see some of the pictures here.

Another SDCC exclusive is the Valley of Darkness Cylon through Diamond Select Toys. It looks like the centurion (chrome jobs) from the new Battlestar Galactica but with blood splattered on it. It looks like it's just a variant from the second wave of BSG figures that still hasn't come out yet. Theoretically, it will be out the middle of July. Right in time for absolutely no new BSG episodes. Personally, I can't fault the timing... /sarcasm

That's it for this week. If I missed any or there are some in the future you want me to talk about, send me an email.

I am downright terrified by that Iron Man doll. He's worse than that damnable My Buddy I had as a kid.

They actually did have more horde for the first time around (starts here, just keep hitting "next")

I'm personally excited about these two from the third wave. They're not out 'til November though. If I could, I'd buy 'em all. As it is, it'll just be those two.

I got the three first one from Sota toys and the three male ones from series 1 (sorry, but I don't care for the female ones), but I'm not sure I'm getting many of the next few series for various reasons. Me preferring males, me being more into Horde and me just not thinking the second and third series look as good as the previous ones.
And damn them for sexualising the female models and not the male models. Well the Orc Shaman in the first series was, but the rest not so much.

Oh action figures.

Ironic that today a friend I haven't seen in a while who ISN'T a comic person at all sent me a Wonder Woman hero clix as a little 'hi there'.

I didn't get any from the first wave, but if I had it would have actually have been the Undead warlock. I wasn't too fond of the Blood Elf Rogue. The two female characters in the third wave just look sooo cool, I must have!

Generally though, I get female and male figures, it's just all to often female characters are rare. Hence my complaining. I think the most I've seen in a wave are two out of five. :P

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"
