Witchblade Film Gets Some Ass

WB_teaserpage_sm.JPG

Welcome back, everyone!

For those unaware, this past weekend was memorial Day in the U.S. and so we here at Pink Kryptonite took the day off to eat, drink, party, sin remember all of the fallen men and woman who served in the U.S. armed forces.

But the long weekend is over and we're back to barrage you with the goings on of our favorite four color worlds. With that in mind, let's jump into the current rage in Hollywood: comic book adaptations!

First Showing gives us the first look at the teaser poster for Witchblade, based on the Top Cow book of the same name. The series stars Sara Pezzini as a woman who gains a mystical gauntlet and tries to not rip off the Darkness (even though the Witchblade came first).

The film is supposed to begin filming this September for a 2009 release date. Seeing as there is no cast as of yet, who knows who this pair of eyes and ass really is. I suppose this scantily clad woman is supposed to excite the comic-movie going audience, but it does nothing for me (and I'd venture a fair portion of the male PK reading public).

Check out the poster below.

Forgive me if I'm misinterpreting this, but the Darkness appeared first in Witchblade's book; so the witchblade came first.

You know what, you're right. I thought the Darkness started in 1995 and Witchblade in 1995, but it's actually the opposite. My mistake, thanks for the heads-up.

Does nothing for me - especially if they are selling it as a 'nice piece of ass' with a metal glove.

Sara Pezzini both in the comic and the TV series always seemed to be more than that to me. There goes my faith in this one too.

Then again - there were Wonder Woman preview posters a few summers back and nothing came of that, once thought to be genius, project. (They fired Whedon - really????!!!!)
