Buy It For America

That adorkable superhero known as Major Spoilers has for us the two variant covers to the forthcoming Captain America: White. The limited series reteams writer Jeph Loeb with artist Tim Sale for another "color" book from the House of Ideas. Following Daredevil: Yellow, Hulk: Gray and Spider-Man: Blue, this new outing with Captain America will have him busting Nazi heads alongside pre-Russia craziness Bucky during World War II.

I am anxiously awaiting this book as I have been since Sale moved to DC a few years ago. Loeb never seems to be better than when working with his co-conspirator and not just at Marvel. Batman: The Long Halloween and Dark Victory are both exemplary tales.

Hit the jump for the official word from Marvel and to check out the two covers to Captain America: White #0 for some pretty, pretty pictures. While the wrap-around is great in an actiony-comic book way, the swastika image is much more powerful. It elicits a strong feeling that isn't always associated with Cap anymore. We tend to forget that he's seen humanity at its worst.

Issue #0 hits July 9th.

Comic of the Week

Review: Wonder Woman #1 - #5 OK, so a couple of unkind reviews from me of late. Does that mean I hate the whole New 52? No, not at all. Does it mean that I only enjoy the new characters? Definitely not. Case in point: Wonder Woman is one of my favorite books of the relaunch. I think it's very good, with strong writing, an excellent ambience and fantastic art. Read on for why this reboot is the first time I've ever subscribed to Wonder Woman!...
