Two Watchmen Figures Revealed, I Slowly Lose Hope
We've already gotten a look at the new Watchmen costume designs already, but I still held out hope that it was just a trick of perspective that made Nite Owl look so thin. This confirms it, however.
EW.com got an exclusive look at these two figures, set for release in 2009. It's bothering me a little bit. For those not familiar with Watchmen, (and if you aren't, go buy it right now), Nite Owl is supposed to be a middle aged, slightly overweight man. A crimefighter in retirement and past his prime. Apparently they decided to sexy him up a bit for the movie. My only hope is that this is the 'young' Nite Owl from a flashback or something, but that seems like a slim chance.

From what I was able to dig up Stephen McHattie, who is very lean, is playing Nite Owl #1.
Patrick Wilson was reported as saying stuff regarding the weight for Nite Owl #2:

However they do it - Hollywood sells sex. Won't surprise me if out of shape is a 2 pack instead of a 6 pack for Nite Owl.
I was more surprised by the darker look of Ozymandias' costume then a skinner Nite Owl.
When I saw the NightOwl and Ozymandias costumes, I was afraid Joel Shumacher had crawled from his hole in the ground to ruin another comics franchise.
I'm already having flashbacks to the horror show that was the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie.
Comic book remakes always dumb down the heroes and make them sexier to appeal to wider audiences.
