News: Invincible Iron Man #1 To Have 5 (!) Variant Covers

ironman.gif

What is this, 1994?

Not only are we getting a second Iron Man ongoing comic book, but we are also going to be bombarded with 5 variant covers for the first issue (out on May 7th).

Marvel has just announced that in addition to the 50/50 split of normal Joe Quesada (Marvel Editor-in-Chief) and Salvador Larroca (Invincible Iron Man's regular artist) covers, Billy Tan (Uncanny X-Men), Bob Layton (Iron Man: Legacy of Doom), and Marko Djurdjevic (Thor) will be providing variants as well.

I don't even know if I need a second ongoing Iron Man series, since most of the action relating to Iron Man tends to happen in Mighty Avengers and major Marvel events anyway, but if I had to pick, I'd probably get either Larroca's or Djurdjevic's.

What about you folks?

Check out all 5 covers in our gallery below.

Oh my gosh -- how many variant covers do we really need?!

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"

Comic of the Week

Review: Avengers: The Children's Crusade #1 I literally clapped my hands together and said OhMyGodYesssss when the friendly staff member at my regular shop held this book out to hand it to me. Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung finally - finally - return to this title with a nine issue limited series. I will spare you paragraphs of pontification and cut to the chase: it's not just good, it's the best thing Marvel has going, period. Read on for the pontification and petty quibbles!...
