Gotham Go Boom
Warner Bros. has released another poster for The Dark Knight. This one is a bit scarier than the others even though it doesn't even feature Heath Ledger's Joker, though it does show his handiwork I'm assuming.
I'm pleasantly surprised to see Warner Bros. taking a risk and not naming the film Batman: The Dark Knight. Branding is usually paramount to everything else even if it makes the name longer and more unattractive. Leaving off the Batman moniker streamlines the name quite a bit and just makes it sound that much cooler.
Anyone else surprised that Michael Caine got billing over Heath Ledger?
The film opens July 18th, 2008.

Yeah just because Heath is dead doesn't mean he was a better actor then Michael Caine. Be it that Heath is playing the joker. Still in my mind there is only one joker no matter how good the new one might be. No one will top Nicholson.
I don't think Ledger should get billing over Caine because he died, I'm simply assuming that the Joker will play a larger role than Alfred in the film. Caine probably should get top billing of the secondary characters (Gordon, Dent, etc.), but if the film is going to be about Batman vs. the Joker (both literally and metaphorically), I would think Bale and Ledger would top the bill.
I'd say they are trying to avoid hyping this as Ledger's final movie, as that would be somewhat tasteless.
Other possibilities, Caine just has something in his contract about that sort of thing, or perhaps Alfred plays a larger role in this film than we realize.
