A Long And Winding Road: Mile High Comics Denver

Denver, Colorado is just about my favorite city in the country and not just because there are four franchised comic shops with in a decently drivable distance from downtown. I recently had the pleasure of visiting two of Mile High Comics four stores. Sadly, I didn't get to make the trip to their Megastore in Thornton, Colorado but the two stores I did manage to visit had a pleasant staff in well-organized layouts.
The first store I checked out was in Littleton, Colorado. Lynn Moulton, the stores owner, offered up help locating a first printing of Angel: After the Fall #4. After a moment or two I had the issue my local store didn't. When one finds a book they can't locate at home it's a successful visit.
If you aren't familiar with that area of Littleton please keep your eyes peeled. Although Broadway itself is an easy street to find the store is tucked into a plaza that you might not catch at first pass (at least I didn't).
The second store I dropped in on was the one in downtown Denver and it was a very easy find. Located on the second floor of a plaza that is right on South Colorado Blvd, I could see it about three or four blocks before I got there.
The downtown location is lacking in nothing a true comic book fan would need. Had I not found everything I was looking for at the Littleton location I could have easily done so here. Since I had what I needed I spent most of my time looking over the toys and t-shirts and somehow managed to be kind to my wallet, opting not to make a purchase.
From what I gather from their website Mile High Comics does a good online business as well. So for those folks looking for a comprehensive online retailer they might be worth a look.

Whenever I'm looking for back issues to add to my collection, I always hit up Mile High's website. You have to play with their search function a little since it's a bit anal, but once you find what you're looking for, they usually have at least one copy of what you need. And, if they don't have what you're looking for, you can add items to you "wants list" and you'll get an e-mail once a copy of that issue you're missing become available. Love them!
