The Foundry's Been Backed Up

Comic Foundry is the magazine that almost never was. After running a successful blog for years, Tim Leong essentially closed the blog and began the process of publishing a new comics-based magazine. It was an uphill battle (with Diamond of all people) to get the first issue distributed, but he finally did and I have to admit I dug the book. It spreads a good gap between hardcore Inides and the spandex glory that is Marvel and DC.
The magazine's second issue was supposed to be due out March 19th (tomorrow), but due to a publishing mishap the rag will hit streets March 26th. It's a paltry seven days to wait, so I think you'll survive.
Do yourself a favor and grab a copy for your shop on the 26th or ask them tomorrow to make sure they have a copy for you. The circulation is nowhere near Wizard (yet), so you may have to ask. Please do though as it'll be worth you time. Matt Fraction's on the cover in all his bearded sexiness.
Hit the publishing jump to get the official Comic Foundry statement of self identity.
The market already has comic magazines talking to the two very opposite ends of fandom, but no one is speaking to the wide and growing number of fans who find themselves somewhere in between. Personally, I read a mix of superhero comics, indie comics, and manga. My reading isn't limited to just one category--I like to mix it up, and I think most readers do too.
Comic Foundry is also different by approaching comics from a lifestyle perspective, with stories about how comics can influence your everyday life, through fashion, decorating, music, nightlife, and more. Comic Foundry defies traditional stereotypes about comic book fans with a smart and stylish package designed to draw readers of every stripe into the fold.
