Spike Gets His Own Official Post-Angel Comic!

spike.gif

Big news for Whedonites, as IDW just announced that Spike is getting his own official story continuation (in addition to his appearance in Angel: After the Fall) in a four issue mini-series titled: Spike: After the Fall.

The series promises to answer any unanswered questions between the show's last big fight and the current status quo in Angel: After the Fall and other events...I'll let their press release try to explain this one:

Angel: After the Fall #6, #7 and #8 tell stories of how the cast of characters was affected by the fight in the alley that ended the series. Issue #6 will feature Spike, Connor and Lorne; issue #7 will feature Wesley and a surprise return of a character from the Whedonverse; while issue #8 will feature Gwen, the effect of LA being thrust into hell on the city's residents, and the fate if Gunn. Issue #9 will pick up from the cliffhanger at the end of issue #5, and will feature the new art team of Nick Runge and Art Lyon. #8 and #9 will both ship in June.

Look for the first issue to hit shelves in June!

It wouldn't be an issue of Buffy or Angel without "a surprise return of a character from the Whedonverse."

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
