Shia LaBeouf To Be Last Man On Earth: Also Really Likes Bananas!

ShiaBanana.jpg

Shia LaBeouf is in the running to play Yorick in the future movie screen adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan's and Pia Guerra's Vertigo title, Y: The Last Man. The film is expected to be directed by D.J. Caruso, who directed LaBeouf in Disturbia and the upcoming Eagle Eye. Sources say that the film will be a planned trilogy, with the first movie encompassing the events of issues #1-#12.

What do you guys think? Will Shia make a good Yorick, or is there someone else better suited for the role?

Thanks to one of our Facebook tipsters, Chris, for the story!

I don't like this guy...I just find him so amazingly "average" and bland. Not really bad, mind you...but nothing special, either. Why is he being pushed as the next big thing?

maybe that's the exact reason why...worked for Peter Parker's appeal, right? The average guy playing a super hero. Here we have an average guy playing a movie hero and we see a part of ourselves in him? No? Stretching? Bah! Back to the PK cave with me

Loved him ever since I saw him in Holes. He will be great in this. Maybe he will have similar screen presence with Ampersand as he had with Bumblebee in T!

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
