Own A Piece Of History

The comics industry would likely be a very different place right now if not for Dave Cockrum. The man co-created the "All New, All Different" X-Men in 1975 creating such longstanding characters as Storm and Nightcrawler. While Claremont and Byrne get the lion's share of credit for the success of the X-Men (and deservedly so), they wouldn't have been able to hit such heights of creativity had Cockrum not been such a fantastic character creator.
As many of you probably know, Mr. Cockrum passed away in November of 2006 and as much as The Hero Initiative does, it's never really enough to meet the rising demand of needs of our favorite writers and artists from the Golden and Silver ages.
So in hopes of helping out Patty Cockrum, Dave's widow, I'm spreading the word about an auction of Cockrum's original works and file copies. All proceeds will go directly to Patty herself and help her along now that her husband's income is no more.
Head over to Clifford Meth's blog to get all the details and a list of what's still available. There are a lot of unsold pieces at very reasonable prices. It's a great way to help someone out who needs it and own a great piece of artwork at the same time.
