Good News For DC Johnnies North Of The Border

According to a DC Comics notice, you Canuck readers will be able to pay a more balanced price for your Man of Steel fix.

Please note that beginning with items arriving in Direct Market stores on March 19, DC Comics periodicals will feature a single price for both U.S. and Canada. As an example, the price on the cover of ACTION COMICS #863, scheduled to arrive in stores on March 26, reads "$2.99 US/Can."

Given that the price discrepancy as it stands now is $2.99 US to $3.65 CAN, that's a whole lot of savings for people who buy a stack of books every month. Good news for you Canadians, bad news for Americans as the U.S. dollar continues its freefall on the world stage.

(Should I mention that Marvel dropped Canadian prices months ago? Nah, that'd just get me locked in the castle dungeon again.)

Comic of the Week

Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
