A Long And Winding Road: Appleton's Power House Comics

It was early October, and it was snowing. Snow in early October!

Thankfully there was a conveniently located comic shop to help pass the time.

Power House Comics in Appleton, Wisconsin is the quintessential college town comic shop. What it lacks in floor space it makes up for in a friendly staff that knows their stuff. At the time of my visit I was only looking for current issues and being that my taste is all over the map I was happy to find not only the mainstream publishers but also the independent ones.

Comic of the Week

Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
