Webcomic Spotlight: Freak Angels

freakangels.jpg

I've just been turned on to the fantastic new webcomic Freak Angels. It's free, weekly, written by Warren Ellis and illustrated, (fantastically I might add), by newcomer Paul Duffield.

So far all we know about the story is that there are 12 Freak Angels, kids, who live in a post-flooded London. Oh, also, they might be psychic and one of them has a steampunk gyrocopter. The first chunk went up late last week and it's gorgeous and I'm hungry for more.

"Oh Lois, you SO don't want to know!"

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
