Video: Wolverine And The X-Men Trailer

If you haven't heard about this, Wolverine and the X-Men is a new animated series set to air this Fall. It revolves around how an attack (apparently) kills Xavier and the X-Men disband until a series of anti-mutant attacks forces Wolverine and Beast to work on rebuilding their former team. The pilot will be broken up into a three-part miniseries, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed by the trailer. It feels like a spiritual sequel to the excellent X-Men Evolution show which used to appear on Kids' WB.

I really like the mature tone of the trailer, as well as the way the characters all look. Not to mention the fact that Domino, one of my favorite mutant characters, makes at least a minor appearance.

Looks like someone actually could salvage a good project from the abortion of a film that was X3. Looking forward to seeing some of the unusual suspects (Domino, Quicksilver and maybe some others?) pop up. I mean, I dig Iceman, but there are dozens of other characters to use too.

And I'll say it again - What the hell is the point of a de-metaled Angel? The day he molted Apocalypse's metal wings and dropped Archangel was the day I stopped caring about him.

Seriously? He looked so stupid with metal wings. He's an angel. He's supposed to look like an angel. What worries me is that Storm wasn't really in it. but I like the new feel of it, and I'm glad they're trying something different.

Honestly, I kinda enjoyed Archangel's look. It made him look a bit more like something out of a sci-fi comic. *shrugs*

To each their own, I guess.

Where's Gambit? He's the only cute X-Men character, dammit.

Putting my dislike of the title aside for the moment (Them being lead by Wolverine makes for an possibly interesting twist, but the title is moronic), there are quite a number of things I have a problem with here.
The animation seems to be rather sub par for this day and age. Angel's wing gets shot and all that happens is that a few feathers fly off? Or how about the spinning wheal of Xavier's chair? Tell me I'm not the only one who burst out in laughter at that one.
Also, I never really pictured Quicksilver as speaking perfect American English. Him not being an American and all.
I also hope that kid Wolverine and Beast got wasn't Iceman, since far too many writers (or maybe it's the colorists) seem to forget that Bobby is brown-haired and not blond. Though later scenes did seem to indicate that it was infact Pyro.
I did like some twists though.
Rogue switching sides. She looked quite dark and kinda deliciously evil there. As long as they don't make it a whole undercover infiltration thing.
And Scott being all boosing loner was kind of a fun change.

And just to add in. I don't mind Angel at all, but I much prefered Archangel. For one thing he looked more original. And I also like the dark twist on the classic angelic look.

And to Rosethornn, are you nuts? 95% of the male X-men over the years are total hotties.

I got really excited when i saw Domino and Kitty Pride. I've always loved Kitty. Hopefully she won't be immature like in evolution.

Comic of the Week

Review: Stormwatch #1 Stormwatch #1, the first of DC's new 52 to feature LGBT characters (before the reboot, at least) is out to add a new cosmic dimension to the post-Flashpoint universe. There isn't much to be said for our beloved broship yet (though the last page shows a handshake between Apollo and Midnighter and promises a "Big Bang"), but the issue is a great gauge for whether or not you'll want to stick with the series to see the romance purportedly unfold....
