Shiny New Hellboy Stuff Announced!
I am, sadly, a sucker for almost anything even remotely associated with Mike Mignola's good name? How much of a sucker? Well, I still own my copy of the collector's edition of Atlantis: The Lost Empire, so I'm pretty sure that puts me close to the status of "neurotic fanboy". Naturally, I fell in love with the above photo as soon as I saw it in the email Dark Horse had sent.
Aside from these lovely statues, they've also announced a lovely coffee mug with a brand new Mignola design!

Dark Horse Announces New Hellboy Merchandise
Dark Horse Comics is bringing forward a new presentation of some classic merchandise based on the award-winning graphic novels by Mike Mignola. Aimed at the newer Hellboy collector, these items are just in time for the summer season.A special set featuring some of the graphic story’s biggest fan favorites will hit the shelves this June. Hellboy, Abe Sapien, and Lobster Johnson will be boxed as a three-pack of PVC figures. Sculpted from original designs by Mike Mignola, and personally approved by him at each phase of their development, these outstanding figures reprise the sculptures originally presented in the out-of-print “long box” set of Hellboy PVC characters. It is value-priced at $14.99 for the set.**
The Hellboy PVC figure will also be available in a new book-and-figure boxed set that will feature a special new edition of the graphic novel that started it all, Seed of Destruction. This new hardcover edition will be in a special 7.5” x 5” size, and will sport new cover art created by Mignola expressly for this version. Packaged in a sturdy double-sided window box casing, the package is priced at $24.99 for the set and will be available on June 4, 2008.
Additionally in June, a new Hellboy ceramic coffee mug is on its way, with a brand-new Mignola design in full color ready to confront you as you enjoy your favorite beverage. Steaming coffee or cocoa adds a special effect at no extra charge.
Dark Horse is currently working with Mignola on a new series of art-based T-shirt designs, which should also be available this spring.
