Those Who Have Gone Before...
I keep on forgetting that Captain America is one of those characters who's actually been around almost as long as Superman and Batman. As a result, Steve Rogers isn't the only man to put on the costume and wield Cap's shield, and Newsarama has a fully-detailed look at all those who have assumed the role over the decades.
It's actually a really interesting article, including characters from What If? and other identities assumed by Rogers during his crime-fighting years. Even Isaiah Bradley makes an appearance on the list, and there are a couple of other guys I'd never really heard of before... however, my personal favorite character is CapWolf, which was the result of Captain America being turned into a werewolf, along with Cable, and a couple of other random comic folks. I still have that issue...
