Superman Not Returning To Theaters Anytime Soon...

Brace yourselves, everyone: those comic book movies we’ve been waiting to get produced are going to be languishing in Development Hell for a while. The latest victim is the planned sequel to Superman Returns, for now known as Superman: The Man of Steel.
The Man of Steel is, from what I understand, going to feature Superman getting his behind whooped by the Writers’ Guild of America (probably because they’re all using Kryptonite pens or something) and was originally set to be released in 2009. However, delays are already occurring because, basically, the movie doesn’t have a script yet.
No screenwriters are on board. Returns writers Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris opted out of writing the sequel, tentatively called Superman: Man of Steel, and the strike arrived just as other writers were to pitch ideas, the trade paper reported.Contrary to other reports, the trade paper also said that Warner executives Alan Horn and Jeff Robinov have agreed to proceed with Singer attached to a $170 million Man of Steel packed with more action, a superpowered villain and less romantic melodrama.
I’m down for the proposed plot, but I might change my mind if they end up incorporating that moronic Superman Blue idiocy from the comics in the 1990s.
