LGBT Character Of The Week: Jet Lad

From the pages of Top Ten and Top Ten: The Forty-Niners. Steve Traynor, aka Jet Lad, is a young pilot who moved to the city of Neopolis. In the prequel, The Forty-Niners, we see the origins of the city as a place where the government has exiled/moved all of the 'science-heroes' from WWII. Steve, specifically, was a fighter ace at 11 years old, shooting down Nazis in the skies over Europe.
Five years later in Neopolis, he gets a job as an aircraft mechanic for The Skysharks, a private air force for the city. There he gets entangled in some of the traumatic events during the early days of the city, meeting his first and probably only love, Wulf. Steve eventually stops working for the Skysharks and by the time of the original series he is the head of Neopolis Police Precinct 10. (and still with Wulf)
The Forty-Niners in particular is a favorite book of mine. The art style is gorgeous and the storyline is fascinating. A high quality book even without the adorable romance between Steve and Wulf, and his awkward coming out process. If you've never read it, I HIGHLY recommend you pick up a copy. Even if you've never read the initial two trades of Top Ten, (also excellent), it's worth the read.
