Cloverfield: More Befuddling Than Ever!

cloverfieldposter.jpg

Cloverfield is one of those movies which is striving to redefine the concept of viral marketing, and the latest scheme involves what appears to be a Japan-only manga which somehow ties in to the movie. Exactly how it does this is something we’re all still trying to figure out, but I’m sure that’ll be explained once the film is actually released.

The comic, which is only in Japanese right now, has the Targruato corporation (the company Rob was leaving the US to work for, which led to the heavily-featured party during the film’s teaser trailer) playing a much more significant role with the monster’s appearance in the US.
For a summary of the comic, as well as an eventual panel-by-panel translation, hit the link below.

I've been looking forward to this despite the fact that I was worn out by Lost in season one -- it's just that I'm starting to have flashbacks to Shyamalan's horribly overhyped and horribly disappointing The Village.

Fingers crossed...

Ugh, I was so excited for "The Village". And then when I went to actually go see it I could see the "surprise" ending coming from miles away. I'm not really sure that Cloverfield will be any better but I still want to go see it.

The movie wasn't all that bad actually i feared it would be like "Blair Witch"
or "The Village". Although the movie made me really motion sick and that's never happend before. So bring a barf bag if you are easy to get motion sick.

Comic of the Week

Review: Avengers: The Children's Crusade #1 I literally clapped my hands together and said OhMyGodYesssss when the friendly staff member at my regular shop held this book out to hand it to me. Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung finally - finally - return to this title with a nine issue limited series. I will spare you paragraphs of pontification and cut to the chase: it's not just good, it's the best thing Marvel has going, period. Read on for the pontification and petty quibbles!...
