Young Avengers Returns In January...Sorta

Wiccan and Hulkling rock! My favorite gay comic book couple has been MIA since June 2006. That was the last time that we saw an actual issue of the main Young Avengers title. While that's still not going to change for some time (main writer and creator Allan Heinberg has other obligations in writing and producing popular tv shows such as Grey's Anatomy), we have a brand new limited series of one-shots to whet our appetites until the official season 2 launches. Young Avengers Presents promises to use different writers and artists to tell the individual stories of the YA team members.
This is a good move on Marvel's part, as it lets us know what the heck the team has been up to in this post Civil War/World War Hulk world. We've seen them here and there in other titles (or did we? She-Hulk #21 claims that our favorite gay couple Wiccan and Hulkling were actually interdimensional travelers when they appeared in Civil War...uh...right...) but this series will help us understand their roles and beliefs since they wrapped up their first season over a year and a half ago (or 2 days in comic book time).
Check out Young Avengers Presents #1, written by the awesome Ed Brubaker (Captain America, Criminal) and illustrated by Paco Medina (New X-Men, New Warriors), when it hits stores on January 23.

"Hulkling"...ugh...I want to like the boys, but just can't get past what might be the worst sounding name in comics.

Ok, here's the deal. Dan Slott is the writer for She-Hulk (or was; #21 was his last ish) and Avengers: The Initiative.
In A:TI, Hulking and Wiccan occasionally appeared in the background. Apparently, them being registered with the Initiative was a mistake, so in SH #21 (a tongue-in-cheek issue where Slott tried retconning a lot of OOC stuff, mainly She-Hulk sleeping with the Juggernaut in X-Men) Slott retconned it. All he did was say they never registered with the Initiative. Nothing else was retconned.
