Ask-a-Fanboy

Well I'm back, I swear Fruit Brute must not be paying attention...
Who would be perfect for the role of DeadPool in a movie?
Given Deadpools's mouth and irreverent sensibilities, I would have to say Nathan Fillion. If you're not familiar with his work, do yourself a favour and go watch Slither.
How many shots of Jack Daniels does it take you to make Ultimates Comics readable? It would be easier to give me enough shots to make me straight than it would be to make an Ultimate title readable. In other words, thar ain't nuff liqour in da world...
Lets predict how Jean Grey is gonna die next.My bet is she somehow trips and falls over Emma Frost's cape and falls into wood chipper, and then comes back 3 days later...I suspect Professor Plum, in the Conservatory, with the lead pipe.
I saw Boy of Tomorrow at my local super market buying overpriced coffee, I was totally crushing, whats his turn offs?
- Stupid People
- Long Islands (long story)
- People thinking there is such a thing as overpriced coffee
- Coffee, for that matter
- Bow ties
- Rick Santorum
- Resurgence of tube tops
- Prudes
Are there any comics you would suggest to someone who doesn't really like comics. I mean, I've read Barry Ween Boy Genius, and a couple others that had stories, but really I just looked at them because they were kinda soft-core. I like reading, and read a lot of novels, and somehow the pictures in comics clutter the presentation of the story for me. I don't really think I'll ever really read any comics, I just thought I'd ask what you would suggest to someone who doesn't really like comics.Comics are a language unto themselves. Just like novels and movies have their own cadence and conventions, so do comics. If you're not conversant in the conventions, you're likely to run into just what you have experienced, clutter. To make matters worse, there is no set convention, Superhero books differ from indie comics, and both a radically different than manga. That being said, there a few graphic novels that are considered to be literary, though they are usually heady stuff, and not light reading.
I would recommend you start with Maus, by Art Speigelman. It is the memoirs of a WWII survivor. The art amplifies the story and conveys meaning in its own right.
Good luck!
Why do you think the US is so stuck on neo-romanticism in its classical music? It's like the last 100 years of musical history never happened for these people. It has to do with legitimacy. The United States has often struggled with the perception that it lacks culture and is prone to borrow other era's to fill in for supposed gaps. Between jeans, jazz, pop art, abstract expressionism, animation, comics, Sousa, video games, New York fashion, and others the U.S. is a major cultural force. That being said, we Americans still feel we are not culturally relevant. Think of it as youngest child syndrome...
I'm trying to figure out who would make the most bad ass Super Hero band. Not really. (Nerd...)So far my idea is
Storm-Vocals
Wolverine-Bass
The Thing- Drums
Silver Surfer-COSMIC GUITAR SOLOSCan this be improved?
I'm going to a Sony pub crawl tonight, Boy Blunder. How do I accoutre myself? -Mousey in ManhattanDear MiM,
Try and avoid any 360 accessories. Generally its frowned upon. Also, having been to a few Sony parties myself, wear something stain resistant. Trust me on this one. If you're aiming for being really trendy, the whole 1880's Wild Bill Hickok look is in, though Lord don't ask me why. To pull this off you need a mustache that trails down on either side of your lips down to the chin line, wear white prairie shirts, high collars natch, and black vests and trousers. See the lead singer of The Killers for fashion ideas.

Aww man, crap. I kinda like the Ultimate line. Does that mean I have to give up my fanboy credentials?
We only revoke your fanboy credentials if you like the Ultimate Fantastic Four and Ultimate Galactus titles. The rest of them... well, they're not that great (with Spider-Man being the only real exception, in my opinion), but we won't beat you up for reading them.
Oh phew. Ultimate FF and Galactus were (are?) meh.
I'm mostly an Ultimate X-men fan. Largely cause I'll inhale anything X-related in the first place. And how can you not love Gay Colossus!?
